Starting January 2026, EMS small packets are no longer accepted for most countries. This affects K-POP photocards, posters, albums, books, and other non-document items.

Note: EMS and Air Parcels are still fully operational. For items that previously could be sent via small packets, K-Packet is now the recommended alternative.

Why Small Packets Are No Longer Accepted

This change comes from the 28th Universal Postal Union (UPU) Congress:

  • UPU confirmed an increase in international small packet fees among member countries.

  • To apply uniform settlement rates across all UPU member nations, postal operators have temporarily suspended acceptance of small packets for non-document items.

  • Only documents, reports, or printed matter with no commercial value can still be sent via small packets.

What This Means for K-POP Photocards

For collectors and buyers:

  • K-POP photocards, posters, albums, books, and small plush dolls can no longer be shipped via small packets.

  • All commercially valuable or collectible items should now be sent using:

    • K-Packet (recommended for small items like photocards)

    • EMS and Air Parcels

    • Courier services such as DHL or FedEx (depending on size and weight)

Important Note:

  • Even paper items such as photocards or posters are considered “non-document” by customs in countries like the United States, which may result in returned packages with additional fees if sent via small packets.
