Key Changes. US customs De Minimis abolition
Effective August 29, the De Minimis exemption will be abolished.
New Mutual Tariff System (15% + $20 USD)
This new system introduces a mutual tariff, which includes a 15% charge plus a fixed $20 USD customs fee.
Key Points:
Fixed Tariff: Mutual Tariff of 15% + $20 USD customs fee.
Additional Charges: The final amount may include item-specific customs duties, VAT, customs clearance fees, and other miscellaneous costs.
Pre-billing System:
The mutual tariff (15% + $20) will be pre-billed to you (the sender).
Once the recipient pays the full amount, the pre-billed amount will be fully refunded to you.
Important Notes:
The pre-billed amount does not cover all taxes. Additional charges like item-specific duties and VAT will be billed separately.
If the recipient fails to pay, the outstanding amount will be charged to the sender. Payment is mandatory.
The pre-billed amount is subject to change based on the situation.
